A wide variety of students
There is such a wide variety of students here at this university. This morning I had two classes. One at the nursing school and one at Yokkaichi University. The motivation level of the students is similar, but even with that said, there are some students who run with the ball when they get it, and others who, even when offered the ball, look up at you with a vague kind of stare. The number of students who are actively pursuing real English communicative ability is very small. That's alright. Everybody has to choose what they will do with their time, but I am surprised given the level of attention that English gets. I guess they won't really want it until they really need it.
